TAMA, Iowa (AP) _ Gamblers under 21 may soon be playing poker at the Meskwaki casino near Tama. The Tribal Council has approved a plan to allow 18- to 21-years-old to play poker games such as Texas Hold ‘em.

Recently the American Cancer Society Relay for Life got to see the charitable side of poker players as more than 140 went “all in” to help support the organization. These were poker players taking part in the charity poker tourney that occurred at the Berkshire Hills Country Club, and $5,000 was raised. The event was sponsored by Berkshire Poker and the Relay for Life Team known as Rock’s Rockers…
Last year Swedish authorities shut down a live poker tournament, claiming it was illegal. The 2007 European Poker Challenge (EPC) was raided on the first day of play and six organizers were charged with running and advertising an illegal poker tournament. Just recently the District Court in Uddevalla cleared two of the charged, while two others got fines and the last two will get jail time of six and eight months…
