Kentucky Derby Poker Championship Plays Today
The Kentucky Derby Poker Championship will kick off tonight at 8:30 PM at Caesars Indiana, and this will be a charity Texas Holdem tournament with the purpose of raising awareness of climate change and its impact. The event will have a $2,500 buy in to pull in the funds that will be donated to a number of charities, including the Robby Albarado Foundation, the international Red Cross / Red Crescent Climate Centre and the Health and Climate Foundation. The winner of the 2008 Kentucky Derby Poker Championship will get a 2008 Aruba Poker Classic prize package.

Poker lexicon:
- FIFTH STREET - In stud poker, the fifth card to be dealt to each player. Sometimes used to refer to the last card dealt in Hold'em, although the more common term for this is RIVER (q.v.).
- IMPLIED ODDS - A refinement to POT ODDS which includes money not yet in the pot. Considers the potential extra bets and winnings made when a player forms a very good hand.
- RAISE - To wager more than the minimum required to call, forcing other players to put in more money as well.
- FISH - A player who loses money. An old saying is "If you can't spot the fish at the table, *you* are the fish.".
- STAKE - The amount of a player's BUY-IN, or the amount of money they are willing to play with in a given session. Compare: BANKROLL.
- TOP PAIR - In flop games, having a hole card that matches the highest card on the board.
