More poker players in court
About two dozen poker players accused of illegal gambling appeared in Hanahan Municipal Court on Wednesday morning, and about half pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, though the fate of thousands of dollars in seized assets is likely to remain in the air for some time.

Poker argot:
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
- POT - The total amount of money bet so far in a hand.
- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.
- MISDEAL - A hand dealt incorrectly that must be re-dealt.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
- BET - To put money into the pot, pursuant to the rules of the game, thus maintaining a chance of winning the pot.
