- STUCK - Down a nontrivial amount of money, as in "he's stuck $800".
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- TOURNAMENT - A highly structured game involving potentially dozens of tables where all participants pay an entry fee and obtain a fixed number of chips.
