Irish Poker Open Over
The winner of the latest Irish Poker Open is one Neil Channing, closing out this year’s poker festivities in the Emerald Isle with a €801,400 payday. Channing is the latest champion in a long line, as the Irish Open is the longest running pro poker event in Europe, and comes second globally only behind the event that inspired it, the World Series of Poker. The rest of the 2008 Irish Open final table finishers are: Donal Norton - €420,000, Thomas Dunwoodie - €275,000, Tim Blake - €220,000, Kai Danilo Paulsen - €175,000, Edwin Tournier - €135,000, Carsten Joh â €100,000, Eric Larcheveque - €75,000 and John Keown - €50,000.

- BELLY BUSTER - An inside straight draw. Same as GUTSHOT.
- TIGHT - [1] A style of play that entails playing fewer hands than average. Antonym: LOOSE. [2] A FULL HOUSE.
- SHILL - A card room employee who plays with House money, and does not share in any of his (her) winnings or losses. Shills are used to facilitate starting games, and keeping them going. Compare: PROP.
- UNDERDOG - Before all the cards are dealt, a hand that does not figure to be the winner. Ant: FAVORITE.
- OVERCALL - To call a bet after one or more players already called.
