Yonkers police close down illegal poker parlor
YONKERS - A White Plains man and a man from Hastings-on-Hudson brazenly ran an illegal poker gambling shop called “The Grinder” across the street from the Empire City Casino at the Yonkers Raceway, police charge.

Poker terminology:
- LITTLE SLICK - In Hold'em, hole cards of A-2, suited or not.
- BIG BOBTAIL - An open-ended 4-card straight flush.
- LIVE ONE - The best kind of opponent, a poor player with a lot of money to lose and in a hurry to lose it.
- EVEN-MONEY - A bet that pays off exactly the amount wagered. E.g., "Double or nothing" is an even-money bet.
- BICYCLE - The best possible low hand: A-2-3-4-5. More common term: WHEEL.
- OPENER - The player who opens the betting, especially in draw poker. A hand may have no openers, in which case it is PASSED OUT, i.e., new hands are dealt.
