WPT Deal Expands

The World Poker Tour is trying to make up lost ground in the online poker world, despite being a trend setter when it comes to poker in general. WPT Enterprises has entered into an expanded, extended deal with software developer CryptoLogic for the WPT brand. Useful poker terms:

  • PASSED OUT. - A hand in which nobody opens. What happens next is a function of the game being played.
  • PAY OFF - Calling a bet with little expectation of winning, unless the opponent is bluffing.
  • HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
  • TRIPS - Three of a kind. In Hold'em the term SET is used when two of the three cards are hole cards.
  • DRAW OUT - To catch a card that improves your situation from a losing hand to a winning hand, especially when you beat someone holding a hand that usually figures to win.
  • IN - Still eligible to win the pot. "I'm in" is often spoken as one adds chips to the pot, calling.
