Atlanta poker pro Josh Arieh, representing online poker room Bodog Poker, recently showed that he knows his stuff by winning an event at the Wynn Poker Classic this year. It wasn’t the big final $10,000 event, but that does not mean it was a small deal when he won event number 14, the $1,000 buy in pot limit rebuy Omaha tournament. His victory beat 58 players plus 69 rebuys and 26 add ons, pushing the prize pool up to $150,000…

Casino poker language:
- OPEN-ENDED STRAIGHT - Four cards to a straight which can be completed by drawing a card at either end. E.g., 6-7-8-9 is an open-ended straight. Also: BOBTAIL STRAIGHT. Compare: INSIDE STRAIGHT.
- HIT - To make a hand or catch a card or cards that improves one's hand. "I hit a gut-shot draw on the river."
- BIG SLICK - In Texas Hold'em, hole cards of A-K, suited or not.
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
