IRS tweaks poker tax rules
With the rise in popularity of poker tournaments in the U.S. gaming industry, Internal Revenue Service officials have wondered if the agency was getting its fair share of the winnings.

Poker slang:
- HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
- FOUR OF A KIND - A hand containing all four cards of the same rank.
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- HIGH-LOW SPLIT - Forms of poker in which the pot is split between the best hand and best lowball hand.
- CUT - To break the deck into 2 stacks of at least 5 cards each. Usually performed by the player to the dealer's right to insure that the the deck is not stacked.
- POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
