The first ever major poker tour to run in Latin America is right around the corner, and is being brought to players by online poker room Poker Stars. Poker Stars has experience with running poker tours, as they are behind the European Poker Tour as well as plenty of online offerings. Useful poker terms:
- UNDER THE GUN - The position that has to act first in a round of betting.
- FREEZE-OUT - A table-stakes game that continues until a small number of players (possibly only one) has all the money. The major event in The World Series of Poker is a freeze-out game.
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- LOOSE - Playing more hands than the norm. Antonym: TIGHT.
- TAPPED [OUT] - Out of money. Can refer to a player running out of money in the course of a hand, thus still active for the main pot; or can refer to a player who has lost his bankroll and can no longer play.
- FAVORITE - Before all the cards are dealt, a hand that figures to be the winner. Ant: UNDERDOG.
