New Bodog Poker Open Gets Going
Joining the slew of online poker room tournament series is the latest offering from Bodog Poker, the brain child of entrepreneur Calvin Ayre. Poker terminology:
- FREEZE-OUT - A table-stakes game that continues until a small number of players (possibly only one) has all the money. The major event in The World Series of Poker is a freeze-out game.
- BUTTON CHARGE - A periodic fee paid by whoever is the button, perhaps every 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Constitutes part or all of the HOUSE CUT.
- BAD GAME - Any game in which you figure to be the loser, because the other players are better than you.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
- WHEEL - A-2-3-4-5. Usually discussed in the context of lowball where it is the best possible hand. Can also refer to a 5-high straight in high games. Also: BICYCLE.
