The Kahnawake Gaming Commission was conducting an investigation into the cheating scandal surrounding online poker room Absolute Poker, in which an employee participated and won an online poker event on the site where he could see all of his opponents’ cards. The results of their investigation were announced on January 11th and while they did hold AP blameless as far as knowledge and complicity in the cheating are concerned, they did hold them to their failure to report to the KGC within 24 hours of the incident, and fined them a half million dollars.
The skies will be quiet over Poker Flat Research Range this winter; there are no rockets scheduled to launch. But anticipated funding increases to the NASA sounding rocket program should keep the range busy and the skies north of Fairbanks alight with rockets in the coming years.
Shane Warne may be retired from international cricket, but some thought he was to attend his club’s Twenty20 Cup campaign; they are to be disappointed as the former Australian cricket star will instead by catching cards in Las Vegas. Warne, who has expressed interest in putting his retirement time into poker, will be attending the famous World Series of Poker this summer, hoping to make his name in the growing popularity of poker. This isn’t Warne’s first foray into poker, however, as in 2006 he teamed up with Zac Goldsmith to host a high stakes charity poker tournament.
