World Poker Open Has Begun
Held at the Gold Strike Hotel and Casino, which is found in Tunica, the World Poker Open is part of the sixth season of the World Poker Tour, and is a poker tournament that introduced the pocket card camera to US audiences and has produced dozens of millionaires via their poker contests. The World Poker Open kicked off in 2003 when David “Devilfish” Ulliott won, and the next year it was Barry Greenstein. This year the winner will join the ranks of WPT millionaires and get a seat into the season finale…

Poker dictionary:
- DEAD MONEY - Money contributed to the pot by players who have folded.
- SPREAD LIMIT - A variation on fixed limit wherein the minimum and maximum bets are different. A 1-4-8 game allows bets from 1 to 4 in the early rounds and 1-8 in the last round. A 1-4-8-16 game allows bets from 1 to 4 in the early rounds, 1 to 8 in the next-to-last round, and 1 to 16 in the last round.
- SEVENTH STREET - The seventh card dealt in 7-card stud.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- RAIL - A barrier dividing the card playing area from a public area.
- FLAT CALL - To call a bet. Emphasizes that the caller did not raise.
