America’s favorite card game, Poker , is back in style. World class players compete on television, and even Hollywood celebrities are getting in on the action. But has poker ever gone out of style?

 

The World Series of Poker has announced a change in dates for this spring’s Circuit stop at Caesars Indiana. Formerly scheduled as April 2-16, 2008, the stop has now been shifted slightly to run from March 30 to April 13, 2008…

NEW YORK (AP) - A Trekkie who paid $6,000 for a poker visor that was supposedly worn by the android Data on the television show “Star Trek: The Next Generation” claims in a lawsuit against Christie’s auction house that the prop is a fake.

 

Free poker is coming to Roseburg, the latest spot to host a growing trend of bar league poker tournaments where the game is free to play. The game is, of course, the super popular Texas Holdem poker, which will be played on January 6th at the Jersey Lilly, and will be the first of the new games from the Riverdogs Poker League Tournament. Players who find themselves having a grand old time can keep the play going on future nights at Joe’s Sugar Pine Inn and Nilknarf’s Bar and Grill…

 

When the Kahnawake Gaming Commission announced recently that an investigation undertaken by Gaming Associates on an online poker room was completed, the poker industry sat up to take note. Some were not expecting much as the site in question was the very entity that hired Gaming Associates to explore some much talked about cheating. The poker world will have to hold its breath a bit longer, however, as the Commission, which operates out of Canada, has announced that they will make a decision no sooner than two weeks out, as they are studying the report now.

A great way to wrap up 2007 is to put six figures in your bank account, and to do so while playing poker is a dream come true for some. It happed on Sunday the 30th when popular online poker site PokerStars hosted their weekly “Million” (which means there is at least a million dollars in the prize pool.) The winner would have taken home $354,000, but the top four players cut a deal and they all went home happy. Mighty_L was in first with $250+ thousand, followed by thechemist83 with $230+ thousand in second place.
