Poker and Skill and Luck
The debate over whether or not poker is a game of skill versus a game of chance continued when the British Broadcasting Corporation aired a show that took a look at the question from three different points of view. A regulatory authority spokesperson was one, a statistician was the second, and a professional poker player completed the trifecta. In the course of the program the topic was battered back and forth, with even the poker pro admitting that luck does play a role, but that the overall success of a poker player is primarily dependant upon skill.
