WSOP Atlantic City Circuit Championship
Despite cold and rainy weather the poker players came out of the woodwork to take part in the World Series of Poker Atlantic City Circuit Championship. Last year there were 237 players, so this year’s turn out of 244 was an upswing, with a total prize pool of $1,195,600. Last year’s champion Rick Rossetti rubbed shoulders with the likes of TV talk show host Montel Williams, while players with less well known names did their best to outshine them with their poker skills…

Casino poker language:
- SUITED - Two or more cards all the same suit. Ant: OFF-SUIT.
- DOUBLE BELLY BUSTER - A two-way inside straight. E.g., 3-5-6-7-9.
- RING GAME - A standard game where players can come and go as they choose. The opposite of TOURNAMENT.
- CASE - The fourth card of a particular rank, as in "he folded the case 9" when describing where all the 9s were in a hand. Comes from the game of Faro where an employee of the house, called the "case keeper". kept track of the number of each rank of card remaining.
- NO-LIMIT POKER - A game where there is no maximum bet; a player can wager any amount (perhaps above some minimum) up to whatever money is on the table in front of him.
- GUT SHOT - A draw to an inside straight, as in 2-3-4-6.
