High-stakes poker champion preferred private games to TV
David “Chip” Reese, whose mix of intellect, poise and nerve propelled him to renowned eminence among the minuscule club of those who convene to wager millions on poker games, died Dec. 4 at his home in Las Vegas. He was 56.

- SPLIT [THE POT] - To split the pot between two or more players. Related term: QUARTER.
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- DOOR [CARD] - A player's first upcard in stud games.
