An explosion rocked a hotel in NSW’s Hunter Valley when a poker machine exploded, itself ripped apart by the bomb planted within. - OMAHA - A variant of Hold'em where each player receives 4 hole cards and must use exactly two of them (together with 3 of 5 board cards) to make a hand. Often played high-low split with an 8 qualifier for low.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
- SHILL - A card room employee who plays with House money, and does not share in any of his (her) winnings or losses. Shills are used to facilitate starting games, and keeping them going. Compare: PROP.
- POCKET PAIR - Generic Hold'em term for 2 hole cards of the same rank.
- WALK - A pot won by the last blind when no one opens.
- POSSIBLE [STRAIGHT/FLUSH] - Up cards that quite possibly could lead to a straight and/or a flush.
