There’s still plenty of action in Chicago for dollar video poker players
Q: I’m about to lose my upper tier status on my player rewards card, and I think it’s just because I’ve been in a losing streak. I go back and forth between quarter and dollar video poker. My budget is the same as it always was, but the money just doesn’t seem to go as far. Is this just chance, or do you think there’s something wrong with the machines?

Poker jargon:
- TAPPED [OUT] - Out of money. Can refer to a player running out of money in the course of a hand, thus still active for the main pot; or can refer to a player who has lost his bankroll and can no longer play.
- FLOP - [1] In Hold'em, the first three community cards, dealt simultaneously. [2] To deal a flop, or to make a hand on a flop. "I flopped trips".
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- AMERICAN AIRLINES - In Hold'em, a pair of Aces in the hole. Better known (at least in rec.gambling) as POCKET ROCKETS.
- TAP - In no-limit games, to wager all of one's money in one bet.
- LITTLE SLICK - In Hold'em, hole cards of A-2, suited or not.
