It was Wednesday night and there was nothing on TV that suited my interest. Hmm. Oh, I guess I’ll just catch some sports on ESPN. WrongInstead the World Series is on. No, not the World Series that the Red Sox just dominated, but the World Series of Poker.

Poker jargon:
- BIG BOBTAIL - An open-ended 4-card straight flush.
- RIVER - The last card dealt in a hand of stud or Hold'em.
- BARN - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- OUT - [1] A card that will improve your hand, often substantially. A hand with many OUTS is preferable to a hand with only 1 or 2. [2] Folded, ineligible to bet or win this hand. "I'm out" is often a synonym for "I fold".
- LIVE ONE - The best kind of opponent, a poor player with a lot of money to lose and in a hurry to lose it.
