Clarification on today’s poker run at Renegade Classics
MANSFIELD Registration for today’s second annual Renegade Classics Poker Run to benefit Relay for Life begins at 10:30 a.m. The first bike out is at noon and the last one in at 5 p.m. at 1438 Lexington Ave. The program will include food, raffles and music by the Larry Cadle Band. Entry fees are $15 for a hand and $25 for two.

Poker lingo:
- POCKET PAIR - Generic Hold'em term for 2 hole cards of the same rank.
- RIVER - The last card dealt in a hand of stud or Hold'em.
- STEAM - Playing wildly, calling and raising a lot, because one is upset. Compare: ON TILT.
- MUCK - [1] A collection of face-down cards near the dealer composed of discards, i.e., folded hands, burns and discards for drawing purposes. [2] To throw one's cards into the muck, thus folding.
- DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
- SHOWDOWN - The point at the end of the hand where all active players reveal their cards and the pot is awarded to the winner(s).
