Blogger Poker Championships Coming
For the third time a major online poker room is hosting the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP). The big event will kick off on October the 14th, and it is a freeroll open to any poker player with a poker centric blog. To play in the event a blogger has to prove their blog exists and has been running for at least two months (to prevent someone from tossing up a blog and getting in.) There will be $40k in prizes for the winners, including iPods, Xboxs and Plasma TVs…

Casino poker language:
- GUT SHOT - A draw to an inside straight, as in 2-3-4-6.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- STRING BET - An unethical and often illegal means of raising whereby a player puts a call-size stack of chips into the pot and, after observing the reactions of the players, then goes back to his stack and puts out more, thus raising.
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- LEAK - To show one's hole cards (often unknowingly).
- RAKE - Money taken from each pot and given to the house in return for hosting the game. Usually a percentage of the pot (5%-10%) up to some maximum amount.
