Poker tourneys gamble with law
Two Texas Hold ‘em poker tournaments in the Triangle this month each attracted dozens of players hoping to win a big prize. Both events had at least one world-class poker player on hand.

Casino poker language:
- JOKER - A 53rd card in the deck, distinct from the others, used as a wild card or as a BUG.
- BUTTON CHARGE - A periodic fee paid by whoever is the button, perhaps every 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Constitutes part or all of the HOUSE CUT.
- CARDS SPEAK - Winner(s) of the hand are determined by turning their cards face up, the best hand(s) wins (no declaration).
- LEAK - To show one's hole cards (often unknowingly).
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- WIRED [PAIR] - A pair in the hole. In 5-card stud, a door card that pairs the hole card.
