Lakewood Community to Build Mini Casinos
Lakewood’s so-called "gambling moratorium" - which the Lakewood City Council is likely to extend for another six months - is something of a con game. Under state law, the nearly 2-year-old moratorium really doesn’t exist, but the city has a big stake in convincing everybody concerned that it does.

Poker terminology:
- FULL HOUSE - A hand consisting of 3-of-a-kind and a (different) pair.
- FLUSH - A poker hand consisting of five cards all one suit.
- IN - Still eligible to win the pot. "I'm in" is often spoken as one adds chips to the pot, calling.
- JOKER - A 53rd card in the deck, distinct from the others, used as a wild card or as a BUG.
- HOYLE - Edmund Hoyle (1769-?) was the authoritative source for rules of card games. Hoyle is to card rules as Webster is to word definitions.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
