South Africa Looks to Make Internet Poker Legal
Recently the South African Parliament passed a bill that may just legalize online gambling, which includes online poker. The Department of Trade and Industry sponsored bill, National Gambling Amendment bill, was passed by the parliament and laid out a few stipulations for online gambling to work, including a national licensing program. Servers and records of online businesses would also have to be located in South Africa…

Casino poker language:
- QUALIFIER - A minimum standard that a hand must meet in order to win. Usually applied to the lowball side of a high-low split pot.
- FULL HOUSE - A hand consisting of 3-of-a-kind and a (different) pair.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- FACE CARD - A jack, queen or king (a card with a face on it, not joker).
- OMAHA - A variant of Hold'em where each player receives 4 hole cards and must use exactly two of them (together with 3 of 5 board cards) to make a hand. Often played high-low split with an 8 qualifier for low.
- ROYAL FLUSH - An ace-high straight flush, the best possible hand in regular poker.
