Scandinavian Poker Mergers
A merger agreement recently put two of the more well known poker companies in Scandinavia into a position to become one of the largest, as 24hPoker Holding AB and Epicure Ventures Ltd joined forces. A letter of intent was signed by the two companies in order to merge into one, and the new company will be in charge of managing the marketing and daily operations of three brands: Staffpoker.com, Martinspoker.com and 24hPoker.com. Poker jargon:
- SHORT-STACKED - Playing with a only a small amount of money, thus limiting one's risk and reward.
- FLOP - [1] In Hold'em, the first three community cards, dealt simultaneously. [2] To deal a flop, or to make a hand on a flop. "I flopped trips".
- DEALER'S CHOICE - In home games, a rule that permits the dealer to name which poker game to be played that hand. Often limited to selecting from a list provided.
- KICKER - In hands containing pairs and trips, the highest card not matched. In draw games, sometimes a card kept for deception purposes.
- TRIPS - Three of a kind. In Hold'em the term SET is used when two of the three cards are hole cards.
- BICYCLE - The best possible low hand: A-2-3-4-5. More common term: WHEEL.
