MPs to rubber-stamp poker playing in pubs
Regulations allowing poker in pubs have been laid before Parliament. Barring a major controversy the move means that from September 1 pubs will be able to allow poker for money in their pub without a local authority licence.

Poker talk:
- BELLY BUSTER - An inside straight draw. Same as GUTSHOT.
- GUT SHOT - A draw to an inside straight, as in 2-3-4-6.
- TOKE - Gambling term for "tip", as in "Toke the cocktail waitress". Comes from the term "Token of appreciation".
- STRAIGHT FLUSH - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence and the same suit.
- AMERICAN AIRLINES - In Hold'em, a pair of Aces in the hole. Better known (at least in rec.gambling) as POCKET ROCKETS.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
