LAS VEGAS (AP) - Top prize at the 2007 World Series of Poker will be US$8.25 million based on the 6,358 players who have entered the no-limit Texas Hold ‘em main event over the tournament’s four starting days.

LAS VEGAS (AP) The big story at this years World Series of Poker is the effect anti-Internet gambling legislation has had on the field. Organizers said an unofficial total of 4,583 players had entered over the first three days at the $10,000 buy-in main event.
The World Series of Poker’s 14-year record run in the main event ended Monday, but the world’s largest poker tournament also got a little bigger this year. The final group of 1,789 players set this year’s main event at 6,358 players, nearly a 28% drop from last year’s record of 8,773. It’s also the first decrease in the main event field since 1992.
