Nova Scotia bar owner faces fine for allowing poker tournament
TRURO, N.S. (CP) - A Nova Scotia bar owner has been fined $1,000 for allowing gaming at his business. Kevin Dawe, who owns Calico’s Lounge in Truro, was charged following a Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament in January. Defence lawyer Joel Pink entered the guilty plea on Dawe’s behalf Wednesday.

- RAKE - Money taken from each pot and given to the house in return for hosting the game. Usually a percentage of the pot (5%-10%) up to some maximum amount.
