Annual River Rally Poker Run going strong
The 6th annual Jacksonville Firefighters River Rally Poker Run kicks off June 7 at Metropolitan Park and runs through June 10. Proceeds from the run benefit the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation.

Poker jargon:
- DOOR [CARD] - A player's first upcard in stud games.
- LATE POSITION - For a particular betting round, a player who does not have to act until most of the other players have acted.
- STEAM - Playing wildly, calling and raising a lot, because one is upset. Compare: ON TILT.
- PAY STATION - A player who rarely folds, thus who frequently calls better hands and loses. Almost as much fun as a LIVE ONE.
- STAKE - The amount of a player's BUY-IN, or the amount of money they are willing to play with in a given session. Compare: BANKROLL.
- DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
