The game gentlemen, if I can call you that – and scoundrels if I can’t – the game is seven card no peek. Since few of you have played this devious variation of 7-card stud I will explain it to you….

At 7:15 on an early-March evening, the lobby outside the ballroom at Greenvilles Marriott at the Parkway is electric. Women in cocktail dresses and men in sports jackets float in and out of the connecting room and the lobby, their chatter mingling with the clinking of ice in their glasses.
