Amateur golfers set for poker-faced tournament
With a revamped poker-style format allowing for wagers on each shot, the World Series of Golf will be staged here in May with 180 amateur golfers chasing a 250,000-dollar top prize.

Useful poker information:
- OFFSUIT - Not of the same suit. "I held A-Q offsuit" or "The flop was 10-6-2 offsuit". When speaking of 5 or more cards, not all/ of the same suit, i.e., no flush, as in "button had A-K-10-8-7 offsuit."
- BET - To put money into the pot, pursuant to the rules of the game, thus maintaining a chance of winning the pot.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- BICYCLE - The best possible low hand: A-2-3-4-5. More common term: WHEEL.
- PASSED OUT. - A hand in which nobody opens. What happens next is a function of the game being played.
- FAMILY POT - A pot where all of the players at the table are participating, even after each has had an opportunity to act.
