Highland While lottery ticket holders around the region Tuesday night clung to hopes of windfall millions, one correction officer from Highland used his poker face to score a championship and $86,268 in prize money.

Poker glossary:
- LIVE ONE - The best kind of opponent, a poor player with a lot of money to lose and in a hurry to lose it.
- MANIAC - A player who bets, raises and reraises without regard to the quality of his hand. Most often found in flop games.
- RUSH - A winning streak. Also "ON A RUSH".
- PAY OFF - Calling a bet with little expectation of winning, unless the opponent is bluffing.
- STAND OFF - To call a raise. "Opener raises, I stand off".
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
