In my life, “accounts receivable” means chits written on scraps of paper during poker games. “Gross” is the thought of Richard Nixon pouring ketchup on his cottage cheese. “Net” is something through which one slam dunks a basketball.

My friend and I were in the office late, having each had a lot of paper work to get caught up on. We were in the mood for some diversion. I asked him if he wanted to play some poker. He heartily agreed.

What an idea! Tight aggressive is what you see recommended over and over in literature on how to play poker, but that is truly meaningless and hard to pin down when you examine real examples. What exactly does ‘tight-aggressive’ mean?…
