Chip maker bets that its Barcelona server processor will trump Intel. If the business of making and selling Windows-compatible processor chips is a $29 billion poker game, then Advanced Micro Devices Inc. is getting ready to put down another big bet.

Recently Tribeca tables announced they were going to leave the US market, putting sites like Poker Host and Doyle’s Room on notice that if they wanted to cater to US players, they were going to have to find another network, and Poker Host has done so. Now that they will no longer be served by Tribeca, Poker Host will be moving operations to the Microgaming Poker Network, which allows US players from all but 11 states. Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, South Dakota, New York and New Jersey players are blocked from the network, but players from other states are allowed.

Full Tilt Poker once more surpassed its guaranteed prize pool in event number 8 of 10 in their annual Full Tilt Online Poker Series, running for its third year in a row. The event was a $125,000 Guaranteed Pot Limit Holdem event, and 916 players put down $200 to play, building the prize pool up to $183,200.
