Online Poker Site Fakes Shutdown
A Canadian poker site called PokerBandits faked its own demise recently in order to prove a point. The site, offering spurious advice on how US players can get around Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by “borrowing” the name and address of a random Canadian citizen, faked its own shutdown as if the US had cracked down on them. They came back up and declared the hoax a “Necessary Evil” but their stunt, along with the questionable advice regarding identity fraud, has the online poker community shaking its collective head.
