With a flurry of activity, the 2007 Poker Player of the Year race is already being hotly contested. The leader board after the plentitude of January poker tournaments brings poker fans some familiar names…

 

The Xbox 360 is a household brand name, and what better game to play on the 360 than poker, another household name, thanks to the influx of Texas Holdem poker TV in the last few years. Oxygen Games has recently committed to another poker game with the announcement of World Championship Poker 2: All In for the Xbox 360, set for a release date of 16th March, 2007. Oxygen CEO Jim Scott was quoted as saying that they are “extremely pleased” with the new title, calling it a “Next gen inclusive multi-format release”.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) knows a thing or two about poker and marketing, including when it is smart to get help with a project, and that is just what they did when they joined up for the first time with the Creative Coalition (TCC). The Event is the 5th Annual World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational, which will be held in Los Angeles on March 3-5 at the Commerce Casino. TCC, which will get ten grand from the WPT, is a nonpartisan social and public advocacy organization of the arts and entertainment community.

In three events the range of age for the winners at the World Series of Poker Circuit at the Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs is about one year - ranging from 21 to 22, and the most recent winner, Cody Slaubaugh, is on the younger end of that spectrum. Cody was the winner of the $300 No Limit event, taking the lead he arrived with at the final table and riding it strongly to the win. His first place finish earned him $35,543…

CHEYENNE - Wyoming poker fans won another hand Friday when the House Travel Committee approved a bill, already passed by the Senate, that would permit the return of “social” poker games to state bars and restaurants.
