More Poker Events See Police Action
When a poker player is looking for action, having police descend upon the game he is in the middle of is not exactly what he is looking for, but it is becoming an all too frequent occurrence. The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise were recently told they would be raided if they went forward with a charitable Texas Holdem tournament they were planning. The word came from the Illegal Gambling Unit itself…

Useful poker information:
- RERAISE - To raise after an opponent has raised.
- OPENER - The player who opens the betting, especially in draw poker. A hand may have no openers, in which case it is PASSED OUT, i.e., new hands are dealt.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
- LIVE [CARD] - In Stud, a card probably not held by other players.
- OPEN-HANDED - A category of games characterized by a part of each player's hand being exposed.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
