No Penalties for Not Complying with Anti Poker Law
According to a recent press release from CompatiblePoker.com, there would be no penalties for banks and credit card companies who fail to set guidelines before the end of the grace period this year in compliance with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The UIGEA put in a 270 day period for affected institutions to put up some measure to prevent poker players from making transactions to online poker rooms. According to the press release, an article on Gambling-Law-US.com points out that there are no penalties if regulations aren’t set before the deadline.
