Poker beat out MySpace for No. 1 on Lycos’ annual list of the top 50 search terms for 2006, the U.S. Internet gateway said Wednesday. Clay Aiken was the Web’s most-searched man and Pamela Anderson was hanging in there as the most-searched woman, Lycos said in a news release.
A new Sacramento ordinance goes into effect Jan. 1 allowing local cardrooms to increase the wagering limit - the amount a player of Texas Hold ‘Em poker can go “all in” for - from $49 a hand to $1,000. It also raises the number of tables allowed at each cardrom from eight to nine.
An interesting dynamic to poker that a lot of players fail to grasp is the idea that sometimes your hand is a favorite to win, even though it is behind when you are putting your money into the pot.
