GOP May Suffer Bad Beat Over Poker Issue
When the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed into law on October 13th by President George Bush, Republican Bill Frist got what he wanted, but his party may pay the price. The GOP (Grand Old Party) seemed to be the thrust behind passing the law, which makes it illegal for banks to transfer money to onilne gambling sites, but there have been plenty of grumblings from poker playing voters gearing up for election time this November 7th. Whether or not the UIGEA will mean some GOP members lose their seats remains to be seen, but it is undeniably an issue during this election cycle.
