Chips are down for World Series of Poker
By Adam Goldman and Ryan Nakashima LAS VEGAS — Observers say the recently enacted U.S. law that bans gambling online could cut into the number of entrants to the planet’s richest card game — the World Series of Poker.

Casino poker language:
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- FOUR OF A KIND - A hand containing all four cards of the same rank.
- COMMUNITY CARDS - Cards that are available for every player to use in making a hand. Usually dealt face up somewhere in the middle of the table.
- ANTE - A small bet all players are required to make before a hand is dealt. Not all games have an ante. Related terms: BLIND, FORCED BET.
- MANIAC - A player who bets, raises and reraises without regard to the quality of his hand. Most often found in flop games.
- EDGE - An advantage over an opponent, either specific or subjective.
