Chuck Blount: Online poker’s future stuck in muddy state
Since the unexpected passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act two weeks ago by the U.S. Senate, online poker players and the Web sites that depend upon them for business angrily continue to wait for the dust to settle.

Poker terminology:
- POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
- READ - To determine whether an opponent has a good, medium or bad hand by observing his personal behavior. An inexact science.
- WHEEL - A-2-3-4-5. Usually discussed in the context of lowball where it is the best possible hand. Can also refer to a 5-high straight in high games. Also: BICYCLE.
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.
- POCKET PAIR - Generic Hold'em term for 2 hole cards of the same rank.
