Phase-Out Begins For Video Poker Machines

RALEIGH, N.C. — The first phase of a new law that will eventually rid the state of video poker machines is under way. The state ban went into effect Sunday, after a judge refused to stop its implementation last week.

 
Gambling industry in turmoil after Senate passes bill

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist last night (Friday) carried out his promise to attach his anti-online gambling measure to any “must pass” legislation available, regardless of relevancy.
