$1 Million Asian Poker Classic Announced
September 29 - It has been announced India will host the first ever $1 million Asian Poker Classic no-limit Hold’em event in a move to showcase gambling and poker to the relatively untapped Asian market.

- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.

- OVERPAIR - In Hold'em, a pair in the hole that is larger than any community card on the board.
- READ - To determine whether an opponent has a good, medium or bad hand by observing his personal behavior. An inexact science.
- HOYLE - Edmund Hoyle (1769-?) was the authoritative source for rules of card games. Hoyle is to card rules as Webster is to word definitions.
- BRODERICK CRAWFORD - In Hold'em, hole cards of 10-4. From the 1950s TV series "Highway Patrol", starring Broderick Crawford.
