Video poker industry suing state
RALEIGH — The Attorney General and lawmakers are responding to a lawsuit being filed by the video poker industry. Earlier this year lawmakers approved a law to phase out video poker by next summer, but attorneys for the industry say the law is unconstitutional.

Useful poker information:
- SHOWDOWN - The point at the end of the hand where all active players reveal their cards and the pot is awarded to the winner(s).
- STAND OFF - To call a raise. "Opener raises, I stand off".
- ON THE COME - A situation where the player does not have a complete hand but hopes to make one if the right cards come up.
- FLOP GAME - Any of a number of poker games where a flop is dealt.
- BLACK - When referring to chips, black usually stands for $100 casino chips. "This guy sits down with a stack of blacks and raises the first bet." Not ALL casinos use black for $100 but that is the common usage.
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
