March of Dimes poker run takes off Saturday
Jim’s Place in Boonville is organizing a poker run to benefit the March of Dimes’ Bikers for Babies campaign this year. Last year, the restaurant was the top fundraiser in the Bikers for Babies campaign without an organized event. This year, they are looking to do even better.

Poker dictionary:
- GOOD GAME - A game with players worse than you so that you can expect to win a lot of money.
- COMMUNITY CARDS - Cards that are available for every player to use in making a hand. Usually dealt face up somewhere in the middle of the table.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- ON TILT - Playing worse (usually, more aggressively) than usual because a player has become emotionally upset.
- ONE-EYED - The jack of hearts, jack of spades or king of diamonds. So named because the characters are drawn in profile, thus showing only one eye.
- RAISE - To wager more than the minimum required to call, forcing other players to put in more money as well.
