LAS VEGAS, Aug. 27 (UPI) — This year’s “World Series of Poker” winner Jamie Gold’s $12 million prize has been placed on hold by a Las Vegas judge after a lawsuit was filed against him.

 

When the World Series of Poker came to an end on August 10 at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada, it seemed like the biggest prize in poker history, $12 million, had finally found a home with Jamie Gold - however it wasn’t to be so, at least not yet. It seems that there is a misunderstanding about an agreement that Jamie Gold made with Bruce Crispin Leyser, who has filed court proceedings against Gold on the claim that he is owed half of the money. It seems that Gold had his way paid to the Main Event by Bodog in exchange for finding celebrities to wear Bodog apparel, and Leyser claims that Jamie agreed to pay him half of whatever he won if Leyser would help find celebrities…
