World Championship of Online Poker stars September 16
The September 16 starting date for the fifth annual World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is just around the corner, and Pokerstars organizers will be burning the midnight oil getting ready to host players from more than 80 countries competing in 18 tournaments for a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million.

Useful poker terms:
- UNDER THE GUN - The position that has to act first in a round of betting.
- MAIN POT - The main pot, as related to one or more side pots, when there are one or more all-in player(s). The main pot is the one in which all active players participate.
- MITES AND LICE - A hand consisting of two pair, threes over twos.
- RAKE - Money taken from each pot and given to the house in return for hosting the game. Usually a percentage of the pot (5%-10%) up to some maximum amount.
- READ - To determine whether an opponent has a good, medium or bad hand by observing his personal behavior. An inexact science.
- RAISE - To wager more than the minimum required to call, forcing other players to put in more money as well.
