This is Event 39 in the 37th annual WSOP, and the starting field of over 8,700 players has pared down to less than a hundred.   • SEVENTH STREET - The seventh card dealt in 7-card stud.
  • DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
  • REPRESENT - Implying, by one's betting style, that one has a particular hand.
  • LOWBALL - Generic term for poker where the lowest hand wins.
  • HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
  • RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
